Dirk Hendriks started as a project manager at OYO in 2021. He has an extensive career with expertise in designing and building various typologies. Originally graduated from the Provinciaal Hoger Architectuur Instituut Hasselt (now UHasselt), he gained a wide range of experience in architectural practices in Belgium and the Netherlands, such as Stéphane Beel, OMA, KCAP and Neutelings Riedijk Architects, apart from having his own practice.
His architectural mottos can be summarised as: experienced, driven, meticulous, searching, learning. He is particularly interested in architectural, urban and environmental themes such as sustainable and versatile design, pace layering (the 6-layer-model), building as a casco, collective versus individual, and the re-use of industrial heritage. Vintage fifties music, kinetic art and curious books sum up his private interests.
