Architect & Urban Designer
After obtaining her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Architecture at Sint-Lucas, Ghent, Maaike started the Master's programme in Urban and Spatial Planning with the intention of broadening her expertise in the stratification, contextuality and complexity of large-scale urban projects and the associated social phenomena. As an Urban Designer at OYO, she has already worked on several urban projects, school studies and various master. Moreover, she was responsible for the studies on the Design Museum, the Kuipke cyclic track and the study for the expansion of the SMAK Museum in Ghent. While at OYO she has realised various projects in the field of context, programme and scale, which has allowed her to considerably expand her knowledge and competences in socially relevant projects in urban planning, architecture and studies. Outside of OYO, Maaike enjoys spending time on her outlets and passions, including dancing, music and travel.
