We took up a holistic approach to explore how the building can be used in the future and what this implies for the program and the structure itself. Through research, we mainly focused on uncovering synergies between the spatial programs of the various functions within the cluster.
With a mindset of sufficiency, the study rethinks how existing space can be used more intelligently through rational organisation and optimal flows. By addressing internal circulation, logistics, and both existing and potential connections, the buildings are being prepared for a sustainable future.
The multipurpose hall could act as a true building of the city, with roots in the neighbourhood. A financial analysis was included for each scenario, estimating investments for renovation and technical upgrades, while also considering accessibility improvements and opportunities to open up parts of the façade.
The findings are translated to a hands-on toolbox with strategic design directions that balance cultural ambition with operational and spatial coherence to lay the foundation for a unified and vibrant cultural cluster at the heart of Citadelpark.
